Call Out for Inspirational and Skilled Trainers to Support the Roll Out of a Unique and Creative Resource
Viv Gordon Company is seeking up to 6 experienced freelance trainers to help launch our innovative training program using the "ABC of CSA" cards — a set of 26 alphabet cards developed in collaboration with over 40 CSA survivors. This project, funded by Innovate UK, aims to enhance conversations around child sexual abuse (CSA) and support frontline health and social care professionals.

We campaign to increase visibility, voice, and community for adult survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA). Our core belief is that surviving child sexual abuse is a creative act. We work to validate and empower survivors, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

The ABC of CSA project involves further development and roll-out of our cards and toolkit. We aim to contract a team of up to 6 freelance trainers to deliver half-day training sessions to various organisations. This training will empower professionals to use the ABC cards confidently and effectively.

Freelance Trainer Role

Freelance Trainer Role
- Training Program: Trainers will undergo a 4-day "Train the Trainers" program in Bristol (Dates: Mon 30th September, Tue 1st October, Mon 7th October, Mon 21st October).
- Delivery: Trainers will co-deliver at least 2 training sessions and participate in a day's debrief/evaluation.
- Location: Training in Bristol. Subsequent co-delivery could be anywhere within a half-day travel radius of Bristol.
- Fee: £150 per day for 7 days total (£1,050 total). Travel expenses covered as per VGC policy.
- Access: Additional budget available for access needs.
Overview of the work:
- Facilitate innovative, trauma-competent training in a safe, confidential, and creative environment.
- Build positive relationships with delegates, promote inclusive learning, and ensure survivor voices are central.
- Deep understanding of CSA impacts, commitment to social justice, trauma-informed practice, and intersectionality.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety, safeguarding protocols, and contribute to VGC’s ethos and values.
- This opportunity is exclusively for CSA survivors comfortable being identified within the training spaces (in a way that is comfortable for them).
