NCSCN is changing!
The monthly National Creative Social Change Network (NCSCN) meetings have been running since October 2023 and are funded until March 2025. We are nearly half way through! The meetings are a space for child sexual abuse (CSA) survivors aged 18+. We’ve had stimulating conversations about creativity, activism and looking after ourselves while we work to change the world. We’ve been energised by a range of wonderful speakers including Sophie Olson (The Flying Child), Matthew McVarish (Brave Movement UK), Antonia Sobocki (LOUDfence UK) and Chris Tuck (Victim and Survivors Panel/IICSA) as well as many others.
Having spent the last few months learning from each other, getting involved with different inspiring campaigns like #ActOnIICSA, #ZebraDayCSA and attending events like Beyond Therapy Festival of Activism, Jenny Sealey’s show Self Raising, the UpFront Survivors Leeds Pop Up and the REIGN Collective’s birthday celebrations, we feel now is the time to build on this shared learning and work towards collective action.
We are shifting the focus of our monthly NCSCN meetings to work towards delivering a shared creative campaign. We want to skill up for social change! Each month, we will be inviting some experienced activists to come along and help us learn about effective campaigning - strategy, planning, pitching to the media… everything that comes with creating a campaign. Equipped with this information we will decide actions each month supported by a moderate budget for stuff like printing or design work.
You don’t need to be an experienced campaigner to get involved. These are sessions for CSA survivors aged 18+ to come together each month and work together, learn new campaign skills so we can raise our voices up together and gain confidence towards creating our own campaigns in the future.
